What's the Deal?

Why do I love writing? Words, especially English words, have always fascinated me. The English language is so different from others and from what I hear, the most difficult to learn. There are a dizzying number of rules to follow and meanings for words themselves.

I suppose that I am fortunate enough to have been born in America, and learned to speak English from the get-go. I have tried to learn other languages, but have not been successful thus far. It is a good thing that I happen to have a talent for that which I love... expressing myself through the written word.

However, my love for words is the least of my motivation. I write because it is a form of release for me. It is a way for me to get introspective, if you will. When I write, I can express myself without fear. I can then reevaluate what I've written to see if it is reasonable for me to be feeling that way. Writing is a form of self-examination for me.

For a time in my life, I wrote to release anger, frustration and fear. Over the course of my lifetime, I was able to see that the ideas I'd had about myself were based solely upon what others had told me, and I knew nothing of who I real was. It allowed me to learn from my experiences and grow from there. Now I can read the things I've written in the past and see how far I have come. Writing has given me something to be proud of. It has also allowed me to be able to help others overcome some of the challenges I have faced. We all are faced with the same challenges, just to different degrees. However, I feel that the path I have taken has put me in a position of being able to shed new light in the darkened corners of others' lives. I'd like to share with you my memoir. It is not only a beautiful love story, but it is a learning experience. I offer the use of my life and the challenges I've faced, to you so that you may learn how to transform your own life. Walk with me for a while. I am sure that if nothing else, you will be entertained by my story. My life has been truly unique.

A Second American Revolution?

In the United States today, the low and middle income population out numbers the rich by a huge margin. Only 2% of the population holds 98% of the cash and that is no trifle number. In fact, that fact has become a favorite sales pitch and topic that self development gurus have been teaching their pupils for a long time. It is one of the truths that people studying the law of attraction are made aware of right away. It is a staggering fact and it got me to thinking. Yes, I've been know to do that from time to time.

What would happen if the 98% of the people who have not just decided to stand up and say I'm not going to take it anymore?

What if they revolted by refusing to pay their mortgages, credit card or even taxes?

Although no longer viewed as a legal document, the Declaration of Independence clearly states that at any time the people no longer feel that the government is not looking out for the best interest of all the people, not just the wealthy 2%, that the people can and have the right to overthrow the government.

What would happen if people revolted against the banks by refusing to pay them?

What would happen? It's not like the government could throw millions of people in prison, or repossess everyone's home. I'd like to see them try to evict a supporter of the second amendment right to bear arms. We have the right to bear arms to protect our property. Ask Uncle Ted (Ted Nugent).

Really, what would happen if 98% of the American populous just stood together and said, "I'm not going to take it anymore!"

There is no love for big banks, except that felt by the 2% that control them. You's think that after decades of skyrocketing interest rates, unbridled fees, exported jobs, low wages and unscrupulous banking practices, that the disenfranchised people of this country would be able to collectively exert some pressure for change. It has worked historically in other cultures dating back to before the Roman Empire. It worked before, but would it work today?

Think about a world where people paid their rent and utilities and nothing more. Big banks would lose control of our government if people just refused to pay. They'd have no money with which to pay off politicians. Multi-million dollar election campaigns would become a thing of the past.

How would they evict people from their homes for lack of payment, on such a grand scale; especially if people started answering their doors with a shotgun in hand.

Does the government truly protect us now? I don't think so. They protect corporate interests, not those of the people. Remember, our public officials are among that 2%. They are not part of the 98% who struggle daily to feed their kids. They are not the people who get laid off from their jobs, because of the economic slump caused by these too big to fail banks.

Think of it like this... In all the years that a person makes their mortgage payments, they have probably already paid off their loan, but on paper they've only been paying interest. Is that fair? I don't think so.
In my own experience, I borrowed $108,000 for my house at a ridiculous interest rate. Over a five year period I've made more than $25,000 worth of payments, but my principle balance has come down by a mere $5,000. Does that sound like a fair deal? While paying bills the other day, I noticed that my interest rate on credit cards has jumped to 27.9%. That is crazy. I have no problem with any business making money, but this is obscene.

Here is another example: I borrowed $150,000 to build a new house. I have made $90,000 in payments but my balance has come down by only $10,000. If it weren't for the interest my loan would be more than half paid off by this point, but I still have 10 years left to pay. By the time I finish paying this note, I will have made $270,000 in payments on a $150,000 loan. That is a $120,000 profit for the bank. By the time I am done paying for my $108,000 mortgage, I'll have paid $284,000. That is a profit of $176,000 for the lender. The biggest problem with the lending formula is that the borrower pays the interest first. Regarding the first loan I mentioned, I paid $800 every month and it took five years before $100 of that payment went to principle. That means that for all those years, more than 90% of my payment went to interest alone. That is fundamentally wrong, and that is why the rich get richer off the effort of the poor/middle class. The middle class is not growing, it is shrinking to become the new lower class. Very few middle class citizens will ever become wealthy under this system, and more people will become poor.

Every American has the right to own their own home. Rather than giving billions of dollars to the banks that were double dealing, the government would have been better in serving the people if they had forced these banks to take the loss they created by forgiving mortgages for the lower class of citizens. These too big to fail banks didn't deserve the money, the people did. Those bailouts helped no one but the corporations that got them. The same entities that caused the melt down in the first place.Remember the American Dream? What happened to that? The banks have the people in a strangle hold. We want you to spend beyond your means but we won't lend you any money to do it unless you're willing to pay through the nose to get it.

Many people's credit scores went into the toilet, through no fault of their own, but now the banks are punishing them for it. The 2% set up the 98% to fail. And it is still happening. Interest rates on credit cards continue to climb, and Joe tax payer is starving to death trying to make his payments. Joe bank executive goes on vacation, buys expensive toys and puts his kids through college without batting an eye.

So, what would happen if 29,000,000 people simply refused to pay? That is 98% of 300,000,000 people. I'd say that the 98% has clout they aren't even aware of.

What is Forever and Always... about?

Originally intended to be marketed as fiction, it is my life story, or at least the most important parts of it.

Why did you decide to sell it as a memoir rather than fiction?

I feel that the message it contains would be better served if readers knew it is a true story, not something plucked from my imagination.

What prompted you to write this book?

Years ago, a friend of mine told me that my life would make a great screen play. After a great deal of thought, I decided to write a book instead.

Why should people read it?

I have an important message to share with female readers in particular. Mine is a message of empowerment. I have experienced an enormous amount of tragedy in my life, but I've come out on top, by refusing to be beaten and believing in my heart of hearts that life was meant to be better than it was.

What makes your story different from all of the others like yours?

I am an ordinary person. I am not a movie star or other public figure, who, quite frankly seem untouchable by ordinary people like myself. Every famous person has a story to tell, I'm sure, but an eventful lifetime adventure about an ordinary teenage girl as she becomes a woman of adventure, is easier for the average person to relate to.

My story is a testament to both true love and the Law of Attraction in action in my average, everyday life. I want others to know that they can direct their lives and transform them into exactly what they want them to be, and how to do that. All it takes is focused attention and undying belief. We all have the power with in ourselves to change the circumstances in which we live. No one has to be a victim of, or in their lives. All change comes from with in. If you want it bad enough, you will move toward manifesting it in your life. You can draw your heart's desire to you. My story proves that.

Several weeks ago, I downloaded a series of audios from The 11 Forgotten Laws, by Bob Proctor. While listening to the material, I was introduced to a book by Raymond Holliwell, 'Working With the Law.' I went to Amazon.com right away and purchased this book, and boy am I glad I did. It is an awesome book. I have learned a great deal from those 184 pages. I recommend it to anyone who wants to learn how to make their life everything they want it to be. If one wants to learn how the Law of Attraction works, how to make it work for personal advancement and successful living, this is the book to read.

Mr. Holliwell's book discusses the 11 Laws or Truths, for successful living. In other words, he talks about how the law works and how it can and should be applied. What are these laws you ask?

The Law of Increase

The Law of Compensation

The Law of Non-Resistance

The Law of Forgiveness

The Law of Sacrifice

The Law of Obedience

The Law of Success

The main challenge to each of us, as human beings, is to adapt our thought processes to draw to us the things that we desire. Most people walk through life paying very little attention to the things they think about and become surprised by the direction their lives are going in.

There are some who think it selfish to want more out of life, and this is not true. There is nothing selfish about wanting more, as long as what you want does not subtract from someone else's life or happiness.

Be grateful for the things you already have. Appreciate the people and things you have in your life today, that you may have more tomorrow. Mr. Holliwell says, "Be ever grateful for the very least of things and the very most will come to you."

If one is not grateful for that which he already has, it is not likely that he will be any more grateful for any increase in life; therefore, that desired increase is not to be realized.

For example: A man has a car. It is not a new car. It is not an attractive car. However, the car is reliable and gets the man from point A to point B. The man is always complaining about the car being old and ugly, and that is what he has chosen to focus on. He is not grateful to have a car that gets him to where he wants to go. He whines about how he has worked all his life and deserves a better looking car than the one he has.

One morning, he gets ready to leave for work only to find that the tree in his yard has fallen on the car. Now he has no car at all; new, old, ugly or beautiful.

What he did was to manifest the destruction of his car, by not appreciating the fact that it did the job it was supposed to do, by taking him where he needed to go. He complained about how much he disliked the car, so the universe took it away.

Did he get a shiny new car? Nope! His insurance only paid out a little bit on the car, because it was old and ugly. So, he was stuck buying an older, used car, not the brand new one he really wanted.

He didn't like the car, but he should've been grateful for the simple fact that he had a car, that the car started each morning and took him to work and brought him back home at the end of the day.

So, now this man is in his replacement car, driving down the road, when it quits running. The car just stops dead, and won't start again. The man is late for work, and his boss fires him.

Now he no longer has a reliable vehicle or a job for it [vehicle] to take him to. Now he has no way to buy a newer vehicle. He's got to take the bus to look for a new job.

To add insult to injury, this man starts yelling at God, for his misfortune, instead of realizing his own responsibility in the situation. It was his own thought process that brought him to where he is, not God, not bad luck, not fate.

That is how the law works. You get what you think about, and if you don't think in a positive fashion with gratitude and praise, you will not attract positive happenings into your life.

Ingratitude breeds lack. Gratitude breeds abundance.

Think of it this way... Say that you do a favor for someone. If they don't appreciate what you've done, how likely is it that you will do this person a favor in the future?

Focus not on problems, but their solutions. When one focuses on the problem, rather than its solution, the problem grows larger. If a man has a sliver in his finger causing him pain, does he sit there and cry about the pain as the sliver festers and becomes infected, or does he pull the sliver from his finger and apply the necessary first-aid so that the pain goes away and the finger does not become infected; is healed?

Mr. Holliwell also states, " Resistance as a means of securing peace and harmony is a mistaken and misleading idea. True harmony cannot come from inharmony, nor peace from discord. Resistance fails because it is not in accord with harmony and order, which is the Law." (For example: if you don't like candidate X, rather than focusing on how much you don't like him, (campaigning against him) focus on the candidate that you prefer. Give your energies the right direction.) Resistance gives the negative power. Acceptance allows us to move forward and make the negative less powerful and more susceptible to change (solution).

We must not dwell upon that which we DO NOT want, but expend our energies on thoughts of that which we DO want. Never limit yourself in your goals by thinking that you don't deserve your desires, or that they are too lofty and difficult to reach. Think about how great it will be when you have reached them. Think about them as though they are already in your hand. Think about the steps that must be taken to reach your loftiest of goals. Decide what you want, expect that you will get it and go for it!

Why is it that some people are thriving during these uncertain economic times, while others are struggling? Chances are those that are doing well have diversified their revenue streams; especially on the Internet.

It’s amazing how many ways there are to legitimately make money on the Internet. You can sell eBooks, eReports, coaching service, teleseminars and more.

One of my favorite (and most profitable) are teleseminars. Teleseminars are basically training sessions that are delivered over the telephone or through a webcast. As technology has improved, teleseminars have become one of the most preferred ways to conduct business training or promoting products and services.

There are many benefits of teleseminars but the most important one is that participants do not have to commute. You can host or take part in teleseminars from virtually anywhere -- home, office or even halfway across the world. And you can generate great revenues.

Benefits of Teleseminars:

* You do not have to leave your office to join a training program. Unlike traditional training courses where you had to consider travel time in the mix, you hardly have any disruption of your day. All you need to do is be right in front of your telephone or computer with fast and reliable Internet connection (with Skype or VOiP) at the scheduled time.

* As mentioned earlier, you do not need to travel. Therefore, you have a lot of time at hand to complete other tasks or prepare for the teleseminar. The stress involved with traveling and reaching the venue on time is taken away.

* The cost of hosting or participating in a teleseminar is extremely cost efficient compared to other methods of training or promoting a business.

* Most teleseminars range from 30 - 90 minutes. This means that they are extremely focused and you can get a lot of relevant information that you can immediately put into practice.

* Most teleseminars have a Q and A session. Participants can get instant solutions to certain issues that occur in a business scenario. Based on other people's experiences, you learn which pitfalls should be avoided.

One of the major drawbacks of teleseminars is being a participant on one where the featured speaker is not engaging and uses jargon throughout the call. However, by being aware of the need to communicate in a way listeners can easily digest the information, you would be wise to add teleseminars to your marketing mix.

Christmas Past

My Christmas Story...

Oh, about sixteen years ago, I was spending Christmas as a newly divorced, single mother. I was 26 years old and my son was three. I worked two jobs, just to afford to live in a housing project, in a very scary neighborhood. I had no Christmas tree, I had no money, I had no gifts for my little boy. Not one! Talk about depressing...

Thank God for the U.S. Marine Corps. and a very special friend with a very special family.

That year I stood in line for several hours, waiting to pick out a gift for my son. I was not in a mall or toy store - I was in a public library, standing in line to receive a gift from Toys for Tots. I was happy to stand there, no matter how long it might take.

I met some terrific people in that line. I heard stories of divorce, of unemployment, and of poverty, but everyone I spoke with was happy. No one seemed to be willing to let their financial circumstances ruin the season for them. Having walked in their, feeling wretched, I left feeling on top of the world.

When I got home, I pulled a letter out of the mailbox, sent from a long time friend and mentor. Inside the envelope was a letter and another, smaller envelope. The smaller envelope contained a check and $200 Toys R Us, Jeffrey dollars. The letter explained that every year, rather than buying gifts for each other, they pool their money and send it to someone who needs it. She knew I'd gotten divorced, and what I was going through at that point in time, so that year, her family chose me.

The whole thing brought me to tears. It also brought me to my knees in thanks. Just as I was drying my eyes, a knock came on the door. The guy I'd been dating was standing in the hallway, with a plastic Christmas tree he'd found discarded.

I then realized that just when I thought I had nothing, I had everything. I had people who cared about me. I had toys for my little boy, and a Christmas tree to put them under. Everything I had, I had because people cared about me.

Christmas is about giving. The people that I met that day gave me a new attitude; they taught me something. They shared their cheer with me, and accepted me even though they didn't know me. The Toys for Tots donors gave me a gift to give my son, and the volunteers gave me their time, to see that I got that gift. My friend and her family gave me their love. Instead of giving to each other, they gave to my boy and me.

Christmas isn't about who can rack up the highest credit card bill; it's about making someone else happy. And gifts of yourself mean more and are remembered longer than anything you can get from a store.

Internet Toy Drive

Why is donating to the Internet Toys for Tots Drive so important? Because it puts smiles on the faces of so many children, that's why. I know from experience how important the Toys For Tots Program is.

It helped my son get a gift he would not have had, and it took a lot of pressure off of me, allowing me to enjoy the holiday myself. The Toys for Tots Program was the only reason I had a gift to give my little boy, so many years ago. That year, the U.S. Marines and the Toys for Tots Program gave my son a Tonka Dump Truck; a toy he played with for years and gave to his little brother for Christmas, one year, after he'd out grown it.

We are a blessed people on the Internet. In today's world one might find it a little difficult to find things to be grateful for. There is so much negativity floating around the cosmos: war, intolerance, political scandal, homelessness, hunger, victimization of a multitude of sorts; the list could go on forever. But why is there so much negativity? Could it possibly be that negativity is what most people focus on? The Law of Attraction states that we manifest that which we think about. We draw to us the things we are preoccupied with. Therefore, it stands to reason that the world is in such a pathetic state because that is where we focus our energies; our thoughts.

I have been guilty of this myself, and recently, as a matter of fact. I admit, I have been preoccupied with the debts I owe, and the lack of money I have with which to pay them, rather than thinking about all of the things I have to be grateful for. I have been preoccupied with the struggles of this nation, and local political drama as well. I am attracting more of what I don't want because my focus has been on lack, not abundance.

Being that I am a firm believer in the Law of Attraction, I should know better. Some times it is more difficult to focus on positive things, when feeling overwhelmed with the flip side of the coin. Easy to say, not so easy to do.

I keep a journal of things I am grateful for, and write in it each morning. When I am through, I usually feel pretty good about life, but then the phone starts ringing with callers I don't want to speak to; debt collectors mainly, and I allow myself to get thrown off the positive track. The key phrase there being, I allow myself...

In an effort to get back on the right track, I began writing this today. I do have so very much to be grateful for, and have resolved to think only of those things today; which makes me think of the Serenity Prayer.

'God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change;
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.'

I am only hurting myself by fretting over things that I have no control over. It is a distraction from managing that which I do have control of, and of course, it draws more unmanageable things my way.

So, what am I grateful for?

I am grateful for the love of my family and friends. I have the best husband on the planet, great kids and the ability to take care of my mother.

I am grateful that my eyes opened this morning that I could see the sunshine of another day, feel the love of those who are dear to me, and give love to them too.

I am grateful for my talents and even the challenges in life that I have faced. I am grateful that I had the courage and strength to face them, learn from them, and go on with life. Challenges that don't kill you make you stronger, and I would not be the person I am today, had I not had those experiences. Although unpleasant, they taught me much. So I am grateful for them.

I am grateful for the beautiful place that I call home. The mountains are an awesome site to behold, and I am fortunate enough to be able to see them each and every day, without having to travel.

I am grateful for the open and communicative relationship that I have with my husband and children. They know that they can come to me with anything without fear of judgement or ridicule, and I them. They know that I love them unconditionally, and I know that they love me the same way.

I am grateful that I have food to eat, a place to lay my head in sleep, and the shoes on my feet.

When I sit down and really think about it, I have so much more to be grateful for than I have to complain about. Sure, times are tough, but we are tougher, and we will get through. We always do.

Who Is Joe Goodrich and North American Enterprises?

Unlike many wealthy people today, Joseph Goodrich , who prefers to be called "Joe", was not born into wealth, nor did he make his money as a movie star. Joe Goodrich made his money the old fashion way through hard work and perseverance.

A man of humble beginnings, Joe Goodrich worked hard for his American dream. Born in Tennessee, he worked in the fields as a youngster, to help his family get by. As a result of the need to help his family, he never was afforded the opportunity for higher education, but did not let that stop him from walking the road to success. In his own words, Joe says, "I was not afraid of hard work, and I was taught at an early age, to finish what you start. Because of my desire to rise above our poor condition, I was eager to learn and easy to teach."

In the beginning, he worked hard, but through experience he learned to work smart. Starting out as a land man, in the oil fields, he worked his way up to owning his own oil company. He's drilled over 100 wells in the Forth Worth Basin, and later expanded his horizons to include drilling in Oklahoma and Louisiana.

Following his success in the oil market, he decided to branch out into real estate, applying the same principles to real estate as he had oil ventures, purchasing large acreage blocks ahead of the play. This led to the building of high-rise condominiums and apartments in Texas, Florida, and other states as well.

He started out using his own money for these ventures, but soon learned how to leverage the money of others. As his business dealings grew in magnitude, he knew he would need to find large sources of capital to see them through.

This led to his introduction to the president of a large hedge fund. With that kind of financial support, he was able to take his business to the next level. Among other things, he now has contracts with several oil refineries, where his company purchases and resells oil. He deals with a number of hedge funds now, that have billions of dollars to invest in the right prospects. He says, "Small money can be hard to raise; however, it is not difficult to raise hundreds of millions of dollars."

When asked what matters to him most, he replies with, "God, family, friends and free enterprise." Joe is married 40 years, with two children and five grandchildren. He enjoys spending time with his family and fishing.

Contextual Advertising... The Good, Bad and Ugly

Let me start off by saying that this is not about Google AdWords. Enough has been said about them, so nothing more needs saying. Everyone knows about AdWords. What I am going to write about are other contextual advertising programs; some you may have not heard of.

Everyone who has built a web site or blog wants to, or should want to , monetize their space on the web. Google invented AdWords, and the contextual advertising venue was launched; there was a new way to monetize space, expending minimal effort on the part of the web space holder. But, there are many more contextual advertisers than Google.

Let's start with the Good...

There is a newer contextual ad program called FairAdsNetwork; I've been associated with FAN since pre-launch, and I must say that I am mighty impressed. And it's not the advertising revenue that I'm talking about either. Remember, this is a newish company.

I am speaking about the relationship that the owner, Kevin Lam, has with his advertisers and publishers. I am both. He communicates with them regularly. I'm not talking about trying to sell something, but to actually get the opinions of the membership. He created a forum for this purpose, and posts there regularly. He keeps people informed of changes to policy, the system, new features, etc.. He responds to what others have to say, and he asks questions.

The service itself is terrific too. Publishers have total control over what ads are shown on their pages. For example: I don't need to worry about an ad for sexual enhancement pills showing up on my sites. Publishers can not only control the layout of the ads, but the content of them. Not all other contextual advertising programs don't allow that.

Now for the BAD...

Another program available is called CB Clicks. It is run through Click Bank, although it is not a Click Bank program. I know, that sounds confusing, so let me explain.

The way it is set up is this: members enter their Click Bank IDs into their profile in the back office. The Click Bank ID is inserted into the code to be placed on the web page, and when an ad is clicked, it is registered and payment is made through Click Bank, not by Click Bank.

CB Clicks allows the publisher to control the look of ads, and the content can be controlled by keywords, but the problem I have found is this: I've never been paid. I've been running their ads on my pages (50+ pages) for years. I've never made enough for a Click Bank pay out threshold? The back office is minimal at best. There is no way for me to check my stats in detail.

I know that having had their code on so many of my pages, pages that get good traffic flow, should have yielded at least $25.00 in all this time. But Click Bank shows nothing. CB Clicks shows nothing. So, where is the money going?

Finally, the UGLY!

This may or may not be a surprise, but this is about a company that I am pretty sure most people have heard of and may even use. I am talking about AdBrite.

Throughout the months I was a member of AdBrite, I regularly would find ads on my pages that had absolutely no relevancy to my site at all; even though I had targeted keyword in my ad profile.

When I'd attempt to contact support, I'd get an auto response telling me that my message was received, and that someone would contact me shortly. I never got that promised contact.

My next issue was logging in. After awhile, my username and password wouldn't work, and I couldn't log in. Again, I tried to contact support; in fact, I made many attempts over the course of several months. I got no more response than I did the first time I tried to contact them.

Their customer service is non-existent.

Finally, I wrote to them and told them of how I feel about their treatment of me, and to cancel my account. They couldn't even respond to that!

So, I consider AdBrite to be the UGLY of contextual advertising programs. If you should find anything for AdBrite on any of my pages, please let me know where. I think I've removed them all.

They have never paid me either.

Let the Rejuvenation Genie Out of the Bottle

The genie isn't out of the bottle; rather he is in the bottle, but he's in the business of granting three wishes to those who will open the bottle and look inside.

What does this have to do with Baby boomers? Everything! What are the three things you'd expect a boomer to wish for?

1. Financial security
2. Health and vitality
3. The opportunity to enjoy the above

No one wants to, or can, live by social security alone, and not everyone has a pension plan. So, financial security is a major concern for this particular demographic. In this particular economic era, aging can kill you; after it bankrupts you.

This brings us to the fountain of youth. These same people are having to face what time has done/is doing to their bodies. Being unhealthy is expensive. It is far less costly to take care of the vessel than to let it run into disrepair. There is big money being spent on, and made through, pills and potions to not only feel younger, but to look younger too.

We are only human, and to look good is to feel good, right? Both men and women alike, typically have no desire to look their age; especially once the age of 30 has been reached. As teenagers they fought acne; as retirees they face wrinkles, so there is money to be made in fountain of youth products.

When you look good and feel good, you are more inclined to live life doing the things you enjoy, the things you've dreamed of doing; more so when you have the money to spend doing it.

Ben Glinsky, successful network marketer, has tapped into this and is the genie in the bottle. He has brought a new product and network marketing opportunity to boomers (and everyone else) with the desire to let him loose. The product is Rejuvenate, an anti-aging serum. Rejuvenate World Wide.

This opportunity has attracted some of the biggest network marketing leaders because of the reputation of the product and the outstanding compensation plan. And, this is a market to be in; since people will always want to look good and live well.

The product takes care of the looking/feeling younger portion of the wishes, and the business opportunity takes care of the rest. The compensation plan is very generous and sustainable; including fast start bonuses, matching bonuses, and what they refer to as a company wide power pool.

The Rejuvenate World Wide web site is nicely laid out and easy to navigate. It is also very straight forward and easy to understand; even the compensation information is explained this way. Another interesting thing about the company is that you don't have to become a distributor to purchase and use the product; however, with a product and opportunity like this why wouldn't anyone want to become a distributor? The market is there, and it continues to grow every day.

Youth In a Bottle

I just watched the first two video's of John Reese's TrafficSecrets 2.0. They were both an outstanding advertisement for InternetMarketing-Mavens.com. That was truly wild for me. Drive-by WiFi?

If something is worth having, it is likely to be worth stealing, and WiFi is no exception. Drive-by WiFi is when a person drives around until they find an unsecured Internet connection, parks, pulls out their laptop, and uses that network connection to access the Internet. It may seem harmless, but it is illegal. You paid for that bandwidth, and no one else should use it without your permission. You paid for your car, and if a person drives off in it, without your permission, it is called Grand Theft Auto. Recently, I came across someone from the Norwood (Colorado) area, who pointed out to me all of his favorite places to steal WiFi, and how it is very difficult to do in Telluride because the business owners there have caught on to it happening and have secured their networks against it.

Internet cafes have become wise to this practice too, and have begun securing their connections; requiring that patrons get a username and password to use it. Hotels and other public places are doing the same. Why? Their WiFi is a courtesy for their customers; not for use by others.

If you have a home WiFi connection and network for your computers, be aware of those who would steal it. If they can tap into your Internet connection, they can also tap into your hard drive, and gain access to all of the personal information stored there. Someone no longer has to go dumpster diving to get your information, they can just park outside your house, tap into your network, and steal not only your WiFi, but your identity as well.

If you suspect that someone is tapping into your WiFi, call the police. Theft is theft, is theft.

If you notice someone, especially if they’re unknown to you, sitting in a vehicle outside your home, for an extended period of time, and they are staring at their steering wheel, or passenger’s seat, chances are they’re stealing your connection.

Of course, the best medicine is to be proactive about this, and secure your network. Check your router’s owner’s manual for instructions on how to secure your connection through it. Furthermore, don’t store financial information on your machine. Go ahead and keep your checkbook in there, but don’t attach your account number to it.

When using the Internet to make purchases, clear your cache and do privacy sweep when you are done. Keep your information secure, because it doesn’t just happen to someone else. It can happen to you too.

I belong to a number of business/social networks. Some of them are more professional than others, but I've noticed a common problem in all of them.

Many people do not know how to post images and links. The end result is a bunch of raw HTML code filling up comment boxes everywhere.

If this is a challenge for you, please read on.

First things first... not everyone wants HTML posted to their profile pages, either in the form of images, or links to other sites. Some social networks allow users to block HTML posts, while others do not. Either way, not knowing how to post, or paying attention to whether or not a profile permits HTML, is a major faux pas in my book.

When posting a comment to someone's page, you should at the very least, take the time to see that it posted correctly. If you hit submit and see raw code in the result, you did it wrong. This is not a positive reflection on you, for two reasons. One, it makes it obvious that you don't know how to properly post an HTML comment, and two, your objective screams SPAM.

Remember the children's game, Doorbell Ditch? You sneak up to someone's front door, ring the bell and run. Well, posting comments and not paying attention to the end result is reminiscent of that. Drive-by comment spamming is what it amounts to.

I find it quite irritating, to put it mildly. It takes a lot of time to individually delete all those comments. I certainly don't want my profile filled with raw code that the submitter didn't take the time to preview. If they don't want to look at it, why should I?

So, this is how you do it:
If the comment submission box doesn't display an HTML toolbar, then it is likely that the profile owner does not allow HTML posts, so don't put any on their page. Makes sense, right?

Second, if the submission box does provide an HTML toolbar, look for the button that says, HTML. Click on it and then paste your code in, or use the toolbar to convert your URLs into clickable links, bold your text, or whatever.

Next, look at what you've posted to see if it shows up the way you intended. If you see raw code on the page, fix it or delete it and move on.

The person you've left the comment for will appreciate not having to go back and delete your stuff. And, they may actually click your links.

Writing, What Holds You Back?

I once heard a saying that goes something like: There is at least one book in everyone's head, waiting to get out. I know that for me, there is more than one.

If this saying is true, what holds people back from getting that book out of their head and on paper?

I can't speak for anyone other than myself, so I will tell you what has kept me from the task of writing and publishing a book.

First of all, it takes time to write a book. It takes time and concentration, something I've always seemed to be in short supply of, being a mother of two. Concentration being harder to come by than time for sure. It is extremely difficult to string words together, that make sense, when one is constantly hearing, "Mom!" being screamed from the next room.

The next obstacle I came upon was my lack of confidence that anyone would want to read what I could write. I mean, I am not Hemingway, Frost, or King, so what makes me think that anyone, other than those close to me, would want to read my work? That's stinkin' thinkin' for you.

So, how do you overcome these barriers? Just do it! Write! Damn the torpedoes and full steam ahead. Really, that is the only way. Don't pre-judge your audience by wondering if your work is worthy of being read. Let readers be the judge. You can't have those unless you let someone read.

Network marketers should understand that remark. One of the things that I learned right off the bat, in marketing, is that you should never decide ahead of time, who would be interested; assume that everyone is interested. For example, just because someone doesn't drive does not mean they aren't interested in cars. Additionally, a person who adores horses may not be a candidate to own one.

When it comes to the time and concentration issue, well one must improvise. The book that I just recently published took twenty-seven years to complete. I wrote poetry! However, I know now that to advance as a writer, one absolutely must write every day. I suggest keeping a journal. Take 15 minutes out of your hectic day, grab a beverage, and sit down and write about your day. No, making a chronology in list form is not acceptable. Express yourself.

For many years, I've been a successful editorialist online. However, when it came to the book writing thing, I was putting my energy into marketing related information, not the poetry I'd written, or the novel and short stories in my head. What I had written, but not published was immensely more personal than that. I admit, I was chicken.

My focus shifted when I found myself without an income. While I sat fretting about the situation, my husband lovingly pointed out that I should publish what I'd written. So, I did. It was scary, but I am very satisfied with the decision to do it. I've had nothing but positive response, and I've made it to amazon.com!

If you don't think you can, you won't. But... if you think you can, you should go for it!

This is the time of year when people really like to travel, or wish they could. Some want to get away to warmer destinations, while others are itching to hit the slopes for some winter adventure. Regardless of the desired location, people want to take advantage of the season and go somewhere!

While many are already set, with plane tickets in hand, there are many others who feel they can't afford to go anywhere, except perhaps, over the river and through the woods. But what if those people could take the vacation they deeply desire, and get paid for doing it. Would that be appealing? You bet it would. And it is possible too.

Giving Back Not Just for the Holidays

For Jamey and Katrina Madonna, the spirit of giving is not exclusive to the holiday season. The Madonnas consider themselves to be truly blessed; having survived many personal hardships themselves, they've spent the last eleven years working to give back those blessings; to share with others.

Little girls, ages 5-12, have been camping at the ranch since it opened. Is there a person in the world who does not want abundance in their lives? Do people want to live in poverty? Of course not, but how does one go about gaining the abundance they desire?

Why are some people wealthy and others poor? Some might say that it is just the way the world works; the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, and it is usually the rich taking from the poor that makes it so. But, is that true? I guess it depends on perspective.

Granted, there are people who are born into wealthy families, who never have to put much thought into how to get the things they desire, but those are not the people I want to discuss. After all, some people born with a silver spoon in their mouths die bankrupt. I want to talk about the people who have everything they want as the result of doing something to get it.

Why is it that some people seem to attract money, good fortune, fame, etc., while others seem to fail at everything? One word... ATTITUDE!

The Secret, really is no secret at all. It is all in the application of the Law of Attraction. The 'haves' know and practice it, and the 'have-nots' don't. It is that simple.

What is the Law of Attraction? It is the scientific principle that states: Like attracts like. If you think about having debt, you will have debt. If you think about wealth, you will attract wealth. If you think about being unhappy, you will be unhappy. If you think about happiness, you will be happy.

For example: When a person focuses on all of the things they don't have, they become frustrated, angry, and unhappy. But if that same person put the same amount of energy into being grateful for all that they do have, they would begin to feel good. When a person feels good, they go about their day doing things that perpetuate that feeling; attracting more into their life to make them feel even better. When a person feels bad, they tend to do things that perpetuate that feeling too.

Remember what Tinkerbell told Peter Pan...? If you want to fly, just think a happy thought. That is how the Law of Attraction works. Think happy thoughts, focus on them, and take action. You just cannot feel bad, when you're thinking about good things.

Good thoughts lead to more good thoughts and ultimately to good actions. Bad thoughts lead to more bad thoughts and... You get the picture. People have been writing about it for a very long time. People like: Norman Vincent Peale, Napoleon Hill, Wallace D. Wattles, etc.. They knew about the Law of Attraction and wrote about it. The camp is much more than a week of horseback riding, campfires, and sing-a-longs; it is a place where children can feel loved, valued and learn to heal from the suffering they've experienced. There are hundreds of income opportunities available today, as a simple search will demonstrate. If you Google the term: income opportunity, you will get 3,190,000 returns. That's not the actual number of opportunities, but it is a lot of information about income opportunities.

Most of the information available is focused on how successful John Q. has become, as a result of joining this or that income opportunity. They talk about what they have, what they get to do, but not many tell you what they did to get there. Sure, they tell you that there was no work involved, but is that really true? (What...? They just signed up, paid the fee, and money just started flowing in like magic?)

Wake Up!

Building a business, any kind of business, even a lemonade stand, requires effort. Even little children know that.

First the stand itself needs to be set up, next the lemonade must be made, and finally, they must advertise! They make a sign, and talk to everyone who walks by, inviting them to buy a refreshing drink, for a fair price. Their eagerness being so sincere and apparent, people just can't stop themselves from buying a drink. They [kids] know they need to do some work to achieve their goal, and they get after it! Kids know how to do business.

So then, why do adults have such a hard time wrapping their brains around the concept? There are hundreds, perhaps thousands of otherwise intelligent adults, out there looking for free money.

To run any business, you have to do some work. Sure, you've got a great web site, but it won't do you any good, if you don't put it in front of others' eyeballs. You have to get people to the web site, effectively, efficiently, and repeatedly.

Most would-be entrepreneurs are too exhausted at the end of the day, or never seem to have an end of the day; don't know how to, or don't want to make the effort to do what is needed to get people to their web sites to generate interest and sales.

I don't care what kind of spectacular follow-up software, or systems you have in place, if you don't get eyeballs to your web site, none of that matters. Auto dialing systems... People hate them. How can they generate anything but irritation, if people hate them? Invariably, you will have to speak to someone, present your opportunity and hopefully have some paperwork to do.

Something to consider, in solving this problem is to hire your marketing out. Hire someone to do all of the marketing tasks you don't know how to do, have time, or inclination for, for you. That's what big business does. They hire an advertising agency to market their business. They hire market analysts to study trends and make recommendations. They hire out! And, that is why they ARE BIG Business.

If you don't know what you're doing, you should delegate it to someone who does. You hire an expert when it comes to taxes, legal matters, home or auto repairs, and buying property, don't you?

Find an Internet marketing expert and get the job done. Hire a writer to write for you. You've got the business opportunity, make it your own, not just some replicated sales page. Make it unique. Offer something that no one else is offering.

Investing in your business is the only way you'll ever see a return. Whether you invest time, money or both, you must invest something in your business to realize any progress. Stop thinking about hands-off riches, and start thinking like a business owner.

Some thing for nothing... It's a lie. How much do you want to give someone for nothing in return? Every time I see the word FREE, I want to puke! In business, you have to pay to play. If you want to sit at the grown-up's table, you have to earn it.

Anyone who has been online, looking for income opportunities, for any length of time, knows just how easily it is to get lost amid the offers. Opportunity no longer knocks, but comes calling with a battering-ram.

Recently, I met a man, by the name of Jamey Madonna, who I spoke with regarding his income opportunity, the Reverse Funnel System. During our conversation, he told me how he had been looking for, investing in and seeing little or no return on, business opportunities for years. He had spent thousands of dollars on everything from soup to nuts, and was getting very frustrated by it all.

Social Networking Business Communities

Social networking is all the rage these days. Internet marketers have been flocking to these types of sites in droves, hoping to make business connections and money, promoting their opportunities.

Are these networks for business or fun? Sometimes I have to wonder.

I have joined many of the newer social networking sites myself. However, I am not yet sure whether they are helping in my business promotion. You see, many of the people I've run across in these networking settings, are more socially oriented than business oriented.

Whereas I have met several professional people in these networks, it has become painfully obvious that a great number of members are just having fun, not really building a business network. When I am not being slammed with business opportunity offers, I am inundated with cutsie graphics being added to my profile pages.

Now don't get me wrong, I think it is very nice that people want to wish me a nice day, or other pleasentries, but being that I am there to make business contacts, it isn't appropriate to fill my comment space with glittery graphics, which distract potential partners from the message contained in my profile.

I have joined communities like Adland Pro, Bizpreneur Network, Lazzeo, and Rotatrix, and find all the people there quite nice. The sites themselves are great, and I enjoy my memberships with them all. I recommend them to anyone wanting to meet people and promote their opportunities.

For the last couple of years, I have been asked by scores of people to join Direct Matches and post my free profile. I checked it out, but until recently, I could never find how to post a free profile. Every link I would click on would ask me to sign up for a paid membership, so I never bothered.

Well, just the other day, I received yet another invitation to post a free profile, clicked the link, and to my utter surprise, I found out how to join for free! So, I joined. I set up my free profile, and within hours, I had people asking to be added to my contact list. I'm not talking about just a few invitations, but more than 50 in 24 hours.

I began thinking that this was a gold mine resource. Not only did I get all of these invitations, but these folks were sending me welcome emails through the Direct Matches internal mailing system. I wasn't getting blasted with ads, but actual correspondence. I was actually gleeful about it all, until...

Until I started answering all of these emails. I sent out five responses, to the first five I had received, and then I could respond no more. I was informed, through a little error message, that since I was a free member, I could only send out five emails, and if I wished to reply to the rest of my welcomers, I would have to upgrade to a paid membership.

What is that all about? Here I thought I was inside an incredible network, I had established 52 contacts within 24 hours; but, all those contacts are useless to me, unless I pay for an upgraded membership. I have all these contacts that I cannot contact.

I have never encountered such a situation with any of the other networks I belong to. Now, it isn't that I am a cheap-skate, it's just that I feel their methods at Direct Matches, are a little underhanded. I can see not offering an income stream to free members, but to not allow free members to send out more than five messages without upgrading? What a crock!

Guess who is going to leave her free profile up there, until they take it down, and who is not going to upgrade. I will not be held hostage. I can make many business contacts without the help of Direct Matches; I've been doing it for years.

To the person who I signed up under: I apologize, but there will be no commission earned from my account. If you'd have told me about the email limit, I would not have even looked into the site for the hundreth time. I guess I should've just went with my first impression of the site, and stayed away. And for all of you at Direct Matches that sent me warm welcomes, I am sorry that I could not reply.

There are plenty of networking sites out there that don't practice bait and switch tactics, and I'll stick with them. I'd rather deal with glittery graphics being posted to my profile page, than be tricked into paying for a membership just to communicate with other members.
